Our exceptional, friendly staff is our greatest asset. They are excited about what they do and they care personally about getting the best results for our patients.

Our receptionists will try to accommodate your busy schedule by finding appointments that suit your needs.


Robert R. Lommerse ABOC


Bob Lommerse is a lifelong resident of Monroe. He has been an optician since 1978 and is certified by the American Board of Opticianry and is a Licensed Dispensing Optician by the State of Ohio. During his time in the optical industry, he was General Manager of Toledo Optical laboratory, a large manufacturer of eyewear, for 16 years. He brings that knowledge of lens and eyewear manufacturing to each pair of eyewear he helps our patients pick out. He enjoys spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren and sailing on Lake Erie.


Deborah Brown

Optometric Technician

Deb is also a Monroe native and has been with the practice for over 10 years. She enjoys interacting with the patients during screening and pretesting. It is very important to her that every patient is treated with care and has a great experience at our office.


Stephanie Kaiser

Front Desk, Receptionist

Stephanie and her husband are residents of the Monroe Community.  She is a retired elementary teacher with 25 years in that career.  She enjoys photographing and painting wildlife and nature.  She loves greeting and serving our patients.


Valinda (Castellese) Jonas


Visionary Eyecare is pleased to welcome Val to our staff. She became an Ophthalmic Technician in 1986 and an Optician in 2000.

Val also is a co-owner of Rivers Edge Pizza, Pub and Grille in Dundee, Michigan. She is a lifetime member of Monroe Community Players, joining them in 1974.

To Our Visionary Eyecare Family of Patients,

As we all work together during the COVID-19 pandemic, please know that we are committed to providing and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our patients and staff. Your safety and well-being are always our top priority.

In an effort to do all we can to insure safety, we are following the CDC’s recommended health and hygiene guidelines in our office. As we continue to deal with this crisis we will further adjust our office hours:

The week of April 6 – 10 we will be closed, but still be available by phone and our email, If you have a medical concern for your eyes, need a supply of contacts, or have an eyeglass emergency, please leave a message on our phone 243-0370 or email us and we will reach out to help you. The week of April 13th we will continue with abbreviated office hours Monday – Friday, 10 AM – 3 PM.

If you or a family member are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, or are not feeling well, we kindly ask that you refrain from coming to our office and we will see you at a later date. Please do not bring anyone else with you unless you need additional help or assistance.
